What we do
Three ways to work with us.
A build, a chartered accountant inside your team, or a venture studio for your idea. Whichever it is, it runs in your environment and you keep a perpetual licence to the source code.
Build something
A defined project, scoped and priced before we start.
How a build worksThe Embedded CA
A chartered accountant who codes, seconded into your finance team to drive change from the inside.
The tiers and the rateVenture studio
Bring us an idea. We build it with you and take it to market together.
How the studio works
Why we exist
We exist to empower people with technology.
Solutions are only good if they solve a problem. Those on the frontline understand the problem deeply, and hence they are the best placed to solve it.
What we've heard“Every month-end, intercompany doesn't agree, and the difference belongs to nobody.”
What we builtBoth sides upload their figures, mismatches are matched using various criteria, and each difference goes to the relevant individuals who can settle it.
See the workWhat we've heard“Invoices arrive by email, and someone types every one in again.”
What we builtPurchase requisitions, orders and invoices collected from a shared mailbox, read by AI, coded to the ledger, routed for approval and matched, with a person confirming each one.
See the workWhat we've heard“The model works. It has also outgrown Excel.”
What we builtThe Excel model finance already trusts, behind an app: pick the model, update its inputs section by section, run what-ifs, read the dashboard, and the formulas never leave the workbook.
See the workWhat we've heard“Our deals team spends more time chasing documents than reading them.”
What we builtSharePoint connected to an app, converting it into a document warehouse for a large transaction: every document a deals team needs - requested, received, reviewed and traceable.

Who you're dealing with
The team, and the coworkers.
Chartered accountants who can also develop software. Each of us has gone through a rigorous four-month developer upskilling period. We work with our specialised agent workforce to build higher-quality outputs together.

The agent workforce
AI coworkers we work with every day.
Our CA(SA) developers work with them to build each output together.
None of them has ever filled in a timesheet.
A newly qualified CA(SA) who would rather build the tools than wait for them? The programme takes applications all year.

Total 8 300+ people empowered
Approximate: the people who use these systems, applicants included. Entities and solutions are not people, so they are left out.
Appventure created a licence manager and online integration system for The Audit Toolbar that was on par with what we see in massive competitors with very deep pockets. The system gave us a new level of control and insight that enabled the entire business to level up.
Post-deployment support was amazing!
I would recommend Roger and his team any day at Appventure!

Christiaan Coetzee CA(SA)
Co-founder and CEO, The Audit Toolbar and SAICA Top-35-Under-35 Winner 2024
“Roger and the team from Appventure helped our Bidvest Corporate team with a brand-new online portal to enable Bidvest employees to capture personal information on any web-enabled device. The project also involved creating a webapp that facilitates the administrative functions behind the portal. Roger handled the engagement and the tight deadline with poise and professionalism and over delivered with a smile. I would highly recommend using Appventure for any bespoke digitalisation and automation projects and we will definitely be using their services in future as well.”

Products
Products of our own.
Four product lines of our own, all in final testing with the partners who will run them: pay-at-table for restaurants, finance software for farms, a connected enterprise solution, and automated tax and accounting for small businesses.

The table's bill as a guest sees it, and the screen after they have paid their share.
TapOut
Tables that settle themselves.
Why we built it
The bill is the slowest part of the night.
What it does
- Guests scan the permanent QR code on the table. It opens in the phone's browser: nothing to download and no account to create.
- They see the live bill straight from the till, with its items and its prices, updating as more is rung up.
- Each guest taps the items that were theirs, adds a tip if they like, and pays their share. Card details never touch TapOut.
- Where it stands
- In final testing ahead of launch.
- Who it's built with
- TapOut is its own company, built by Appventure with a partner and taken to market together.
How a build for you is priced is on the Services page.
