What the problem was, and what we did about it.
The problem
Thousands of paper applications, each needing to be checked for the things that disqualify it, by people whose time is better spent assessing the ones that qualify.
What we built
An online application portal with automated integrity checks at the front and a review workflow behind it. The reviewers see a shorter, cleaner pile, and every decision is recorded. Bursaries awarded almost doubled in the year it went live.
