Appventure began in 2024 with one vision: to empower finance teams with technology they can understand and own. Our founder, Roger Wyllie CA(SA), set out to make that vision real. After years of auditing companies both large and small, he saw two extremes: finance teams were drowning in subscriptions, chained to vendor roadmaps, waiting on support tickets just to tweak a report - or avoiding technology altogether because of the cost and complexity involved. Through his work at one of the Big 4 Auditing firms, he saw the power of the chartered accountant developer to build solutions that were truly appropriate and useful for finance teams.
He built Appventure to scale the idea of the Chartered Accountant Developer.

Founder | Developer
Roger is a CA(SA) turned developer. Roger has spent half a decade building tech solutions for auditors and finance teams. During his previous role at PwC, Roger built over 50 digital solutions for clients both locally and abroad. He also created and led multiple digital upskilling initiatives for auditors. For his contibutions to the finance landscape, SAICA recognised Roger as one of their Top-35-Under-35 candidates during 2023 and PwC recognised him for Professional Excellence and Career Achievement as part of their Under-35 awards.
Today he combines his deep financial insight with hands-on development, delivering platforms that are powerful, adaptable, and valuable for finance teams.
